Some Words About Us!
Meet The Team!!
Starting with me, Panayiota Petrou , born in 1996,in Nicosia. I grew up with many different kind of animals. The day I was born, I had an indirect contact with dogs. My father was at a dog show, and once he showed up at the hospital, he arrived with the trophies that his dog just won and the typical dog smell you have , when you play with dogs all day. Maybe it was the smell of the dogs that was since imprinted in my brain, and since then ,I cannot live without them. Growing up we always had dogs, donkeys, rabbits, pigeons , chickens ,turtles and the family was always growing with more animals joining! My love for them will never stop growing, and as expected, I learnt to treat them with respect and empathy .In 2015 I joined a private dog training school in Greece , named Veranis K9 Dog Center and finished in 2016 with 3 different diplomas. One for basic obedience ,one for IGP training and one for Dog Breeding and Puppy Raising. I learnt a lot from him , but the most important thing that I got was to never stop learning. Yes, he wanted to teach us everything , but of course , no one knows everything. So my journey continued. After finishing his training program in 2017 , at the age of 20. I started my own business , Commandog Training Center with my main purpose to help dog owners to have a much happier and healthier life with their dogs. Thirsty for knowledge, and super excited to gain experience. Followed, seminars about bite work , dog grooming, first aid for dogs, passed the Canine Behavior Training Diploma with excellent , competed in IGP , BH/VT and many dog shows, learned as much as I could, and worked with hundreds of clients leaded me to today. A much more experienced and more passionate person than ever, ready to train dogs and make their lives better with their owners!
Continuing with our second member of the team, Michalis Patsalides, born and raised in the city in 1995. His family always had a dog in the house, so once again, it didn't took him long to understand that he wanted to spend the rest of his life working with them. At first, he wanted to be a veterinarian , but after some time of spending his free time volunteering and helping in his local shelter , he soon realized , he wanted to help the dogs with behavioral problems to find good homes and also have a good quality of life. In 2016 he also joined Veranis K9 Dog Center for a year and finished with 3 diplomas . One for IGP training ,one for breeding and puppy raising and one for basic obedience. During his studies there, he participated in national trials in Istanbul and took the first place amongst 14 other participants. He was also preparing for the world championship but at the time it was not possible for him to participate. In the Autumn in 2017 he returned back to Cyprus and in January of 2018 , he joined our team. He would describe himself as very patient with dogs , and a person that gives lots of chances to the dog to do the right thing. While training a dog , his only purpose is to bring the dogs abilities to his maximum potentials and for the owner to have the best results he can get from his dog, for the rest of the dog's life!
Last but not least, Andreas Christodoulides was the one that joined our team in 2020. Born in Limassol in 1992 ,raised in the city and having minimal contact with dogs or other animals, he firstly studied in England, London at the University of Herfordshire, Automotive Engineering with Motorsports and finished in 2016. When he returned back , he sought to get a dog as company and got his very first dog ,Max, a Belgian Shepherd Malinois. He started training with him from professional dog trainers and soon enough he fell into the trap of falling in love with dogs, and training them. He felt that he needed to understand how they feel and how they think ,and after getting his second dog ,Hera, a Black German Shepherd , the decision was made that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. So once again, he studied in the same exact school as me and Michalis studied, got all 3 diplomas plus one extra for Helper training. Once returning back to Cyprus , he participated with multiple dogs in working trials and also worked to 2 different dog training facilities. He also joined dog helper seminars and workshop with dogs that are meant to be PPD , Guard Dogs or just Sport Dogs. In August of 2022 he was invited by Aleksey Sokolov and his team- in Russia, to work with dogs that were participating in the Championship that was taking place there but also to observe how other helpers were working with different kind of dogs. He mostly enjoys working dogs that are meant to be PPD or Guard dogs , but that doesn't stop him for being an amazing basic obedience dog trainer!
